Snook Lights On Fly: Sight Fishing At Night
Posted by cbc76am on Saturday, October 06 @ 09:10:14 PDT
Snook lights are very productive on small, translucent white glass minnow patterns. If you can cast in the dark, pull out your 6-8 wt and have a blast working the lights in the passes and backwater docks! Editors Note: Night fishing for snook in Naples can be a great way to catch a lot of snook in a short
outing. It just disappoints me how many people in this area have snook lights set up, but not turned on. STOP TEASING US! TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS!
When fishing these dock lights, I use a heavier leader than usual, as a big snook will head directly for the pilings, and sometimes you need to horse them out.

Re: Snook Lights On Fly: Sight Fishing At Night by jeremy on Tuesday, October 09 @ 21:02:07 PDT http://www.ineedasimplesolution.com | | yo .. i hear ya .. i love night light fly fishng down there ... especially since it makes my fly fishing a 24/7 reality when i fly fish down there ... i don't particularly enjoy "night" fly fihsing ... but down there it's not really "night" the ambient light from condos etc.. and the dock lights combined with the actual "snook lights" make it almost like daytime and a very visual experience ... and i just love to watch fish smash shrimp and whatnot as they move into the light ... i hear ya though, it seems like every year i go down there are less and less GOOD snook lights turned on ... i am thinking about making my own and setting 7 or 8 snook lights that float ... so, i don't have to be dependant on others ... but the more the better and the brighter the better .. TURN 'EM ON!!!! |

I can't tell you the number of lights that have disappeared from docks over the last 2-3 years. Not to mention the owners that turn them off on you WHILE you are fishing. It sucks, but it's still fun to see a nice shadow come flying into the light and smash your fly in the quiet of the night. |
